A metamere, or segment, of a balanced segmental cantilever bridge being moved into position. See the man standing inside the segment?
Metamere
(noun)

One of a series of body segements into which some animals are divided.
A completed metameric, or segmental, bridge.
Metameric
(adjective)

Having the body divided into successive metameres or segments as in earthworms, centapedes, lobsters, scorpions, kites, bridges, buildings and other structures found in nature or built by man.
MetamericCAD systems are the future of engineering art and science.
MetamericCADtm
Computer Aided Design and geometric calculation sofware using assemblies of repeating patterns of regular, irregular and customized metameres or segments. The patterns are derived from customized design templates, layouts, alignments and other tools. Combines the best of interactive 2D & 3D graphics, parametric, algorithmic and object oriented methods. Incorporates collaborative capabilities. Highly customizable and programable.
A metameric, or segmental, bridge under construction. You can see the balanced cantilever under construction with the gantry. A number of metameres, or segments, are positioned on either side of the pier (column on the left) forming the balanced cantilever. The metameres, or segments, are constructed on the ground using the short line casting/formset method. Once cured they are hoisted with the gantry into place.
MetamericBridgetm
A computer aided bridge design application that provides roadway alignment geometry control for the construction of balanced cantilever segmental bridges using the short line casting/formset method.
